The film about mushroom farming gives a message that small efforts can make one self-employed with good income. Along with the ´best short film title´, the producer of White Umbrella also bagged a cash prize of Rs. 75,000.[break]
Niri Rachana and Tractor Batti came second and third in the competition, wining Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 35,000 respectively.
Of the 30 films registered for the completion, 10 were shortlisted for the final screening at the Russian Culture Center, Kamal Pokhari.
Former Vice President of National Planning Commission Dr Pitambar Sharma and Charge d´affaires of British Embassy Guy Harrison applauded the efforts of Association and expressed the confidence that the competition would be successful in encouraging youth to hone their skills and create self-employment opportunities.
The Association Chairman Laxmi Kanta Poudel said Chevening is a scholarship scheme provided by the British Government in many countries for many years and Nepal has been enjoying this scholarship since 25 years.
