NEPALGUNJ, Jan 17: The status of a journalist’s sister, who was abducted six days ago by unidentified armed gang, is still unknown.

The gang wearing black masks had abducted Bahida Khatun, 16, from her residence at Baheteni VDC-9, Nepalgunj, at about 5 am on January 12.

Khatun is a siter of journalist Alam Khan, who works with local vernacular Nawa Madhes Jagaran. The kidnapping case came soon after he published news on timber smuggling and disputes in local forest in Nepalgunj.

Journalist Khan alleged that police had not given any attention to trace her whereabouts even as six days have already passed by. “It has already been six days,” he said. “I have neither felt hunger. Nor have any sleep since.”

Khan has asked all concerned including human rights activists to help trace his sister.

Meanwhile, District Police Office, Banke, said investigation is on, but have failed to get any clue so far.
