Whereabouts of abducted girl still unknown

ITAHARI, Mar 7: The whereabouts of a girl who was abducted four days ago from Harinagara of Sunsari is still unknown.

Police have expedited search for the 19 years old girl of Harinagara ward no.1 who was abducted on Friday at 7:30 pm. So far, police have taken five persons under custody on the charge of abducting the girl. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Chimiriya, acting chief of the District Police Office, Sunsari, the girl was kept in one Samsad Ansari's in-laws' house based in Dharan on the first day. But it is unknown where she was taken from there. 

Twenty-nine years old Ansari is currently in police custody. "We are recording statements of the arrestees and have also forwarded further investigation," said Chimiriya, adding," We are yet to nab two more people involved in the abduction." 

Police have arrested Najim Safi, 25, Samsad Ansari, 29, Akbar Safi, 45 and Aalam Safi, 29 of Harinagara ward no.2 and Bishal Rai of Itahari ward no.9. The perpetrators have demanded a ransom of Rs 5 00,000 from the family of the victim for her release. The victim's family had immediately informed the police after getting the call from the abductors.

Despite negotiating the ransom, the victim's family refused to pay it. As a result, the abductors had reduced the ransom to Rs. 25,000 at last and the family finally agreed to pay the amount. Later, police were successful in nabbing some of the culprits. 
 
Reportedly, two men hiding in the backyard of the victim's house had abducted her on a motorcycle.
