According to Janakpur based office of National Seed Company, farmers in Mahottari, Sarlahi and Siraha faces the wheat seed shortage as the seed distributers can not collect enough seed in time.[break]
There is only70 tons of wheat seed though the demand for the district is 275 tons. Devendra Prasad Shah, chief officer of the company said there is only 25 percent of seed on stock that the districts have to face the wheat seed crisis this year.
The company collected around 249 tons of wheat seed during the cultivation time from Bhairahawa, Hetauda, Itahari and other places as there was only 54 tons in the office last year.
