Responding to the second question of the government, Katawal has said he just followed the Supreme Court orders by giving charge of office to eight brigadier generals who were given retirement by the government.
On the third question related to the army team’s boycott of the Fifth National Games recently, Katawal has said the decision was taken by the Tribhuvan Army Club following written applications from athletes. The athletes had expressed their inability to take part in the games because of the last minute change in the games’ tie sheet.
Katawal in his two-page long response to the government has said he has never challenged the legitimate civilian authority over the army. He said he has unflinching support to the ongoing peace and constitution-making process.
