KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Dashain has arrived with its share of good foods, fun and fine weather. We asked some celebrities bout their plans for this holiday season. [break]

Nhyoo Bajracharya, Musician

It’s been a hectic few days. Come Dashain, many artists want to release their albums, and it has kept me in virtual studio arrest. I’m currently busy putting the finishing touches to the albums by lyricist Nisprabh, Basanta Chaudhary, and Ani Choying Drolma. After that, I definitely plan to go on a holiday with my family. My first choice is Pokhara. If not, then Nagarkot isn’t bad, either.

Jharana Bajracharya, Actor

Last year, I was out of the country and couldn’t celebrate Dashain with my family. But I’m happy it’ll be a family affair this year. We don’t take part in animal sacrifice. Dashain is a time to relax and have fun with one’s near and dear ones, and that’s exactly what I plan to do.

Raj Ballav Koirala, Actor

Currently, I’m in Ilam, shooting for the film “Phool” directed by Shiva Regmi. After the shooting is over, I’ll be going to Pokhara – my ancestral home. I’ll be reuniting with my grandparents and all my relatives. Dashain is all about good food and great company.

Binu Khadka, RJ

It’ll be a family affair, like every other year. But this year, I might be going to Chitwan. I love Dashain because everyone’s in festive mood. There’s a glow of happiness everywhere. You can relax and rejuvenate. There’s no work pressure. The best part is definitely reuniting with my near and dear ones.

Jyoti Ghimire, Guitarist

I have fond memories of putting on new clothes as a kid. There used to be a sense of anticipation. But now, Dashain has become like every other day. In fact, due to my hectic schedules, I lose track of time, and I miss out on the festivities as well. This year, it’ll be the same, I guess. I’m busy on a documentary based on life after the people’s war. It relates to the story of two families who suffer from the atrocities of the army and Maoists. I’ll be involved in the shooting process, and so have no other celebration plans for Dashain.

Poojana Pradhan, Model

I’m a lifelong devotee to Goddess Durga and will be worshipping the various avatars of hers. I celebrated the last three Dashains at the Jai Sangat Ashram at Battis Putali. But this year, I’ll be in Israel, performing in a cultural program for Nepalis. After a week’s programs, I’ll be arriving in Nepal on the day of Tika.
