KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The likelihood of snowfall in the mountainous region has increased with the westerly winds becoming active since the past few days.

As the westerly winds are gradually becoming active, the likelihood of snowfall has increased, meteorologist Shanti Kandel said. "The westerly winds are already having an impact in causing dense fog in some locations of the western and central region," she said. Adverse weather conditions have already been hampering air service in many airports in the Tarai region.
