KATHMANDU, Feb 26: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has reported that the country is currently experiencing partial effects of both westerly and local winds. It has observed partial cloud cover in the hilly regions of Lumbini Province and other provinces, while most areas remain clear. Some parts of the Terai are experiencing light fog.
According to the DHM, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Light rain with thunder and lightning could occur in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces. Light snowfall may also occur in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of these provinces.

Similarly, tonight, the hilly regions will experience partial to generally cloudy weather, while the rest of the areas will remain clear. Light snowfall is possible in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
In the next 24 hours, the DHM predicts light rain with thunder and lightning in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, along with light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of these provinces.
The department has advised the public to remain alert, as snowfall and rain may impact daily life, health, roadways, and air travel in these areas.
