Meteorologists have said weather conditions would remain the same for a few more days."Rainfall during evening hours means entry of pre-monsoon season in Nepal," said Samir Shrestha, meteorologist at Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) of Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
Meanwhile, senior meteorologist Suman Regmi attributed the weather condition to local atmospheric phenomenon. "The rising temperature speeds up the upward movement of air. It results in the formation of massive clouds and rainfall," said Regmi.
The Kathmandu Valley recorded a maximum temperature of 27.5 degree Celsius on Thursday.
"Within March, the rainfall has already exceeded 30.5mm and we are expecting more," said Shrestha.
Several places in central and eastern part of the country also witnessed hailstorms on Thursday.
