WEATHER ALERT: Mercury dips across the country, Jumla sees minus temperature

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed a chiller day on Saturday with a fall in temperature. Cold has increased across the country including Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed a chiller day on Saturday with a fall in temperature. Cold has increased across the country including Kathmandu. 


According to the Weather Forecast Division’s latest details, the Kathmandu Valley has recorded a minimum temperature of 10 Degree Celsius today. It was 10.2 Degree Celsius on Friday. Today Kathmandu Valley has recorded the lowest temperature since the onset of the winter season this year.

Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar said that the entire country would witness continuous fall in mercury for a few days ahead. “Colder moments have been experienced in the morning and evening time albeit the days are sunny,” she said, adding, “Thin foggy environment will prevail in Terai for some days and mist will make weak visibility in the mountainous areas since there is no rain for a long time”. 


The Kathmandu Valley recorded a maximum temperature of 24 Degree Celsius as of Friday afternoon. Likewise, Jumla district has witnessed the lowest temperature of minus two Degree Celsius.
