KATHMANDU, March 27: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayankaji Shrestha has said that an action plan has been initiated to install Nepali language embossed number plates to vehicles . Addressing a press conference at the ministry, Minister Shrestha said that he has been holding discussions with the relevant agencies for the same.
He said that the Prime Minister had also discussed this and said that the work has been accelerated according to this action plan. "It is strange here, there is no technology to 'read' the embossed number plate," he said.

Minister Shrestha said that homework is being done to reduce the fee charged for installing embossed number plates. He said that the fee should be charged according to the money received by the agencies, but discussions are underway to reduce the fee.
"It has been discussed that the fee for installing embossed number plates can be reduced," he said. Minister Shrestha also said that arrangements are being made to eliminate the need to stand in line for vehicle fitness tests and green stickers. Minister Shrestha said that information technology will be used for this.
