Addressing a press conference in Lahan, Yadav claimed that Nepal-led government would neither be able to take the ongoing peace process to a logical end nor promulgate the new constitution on time. Yadav is currently on a visit to districts as part of his party´s second phase movement. [break]
Yadav said the country would head toward a great confusion if the parties failed to promulgate the new constitution on May 28, 2010. He, however, dismissed rumors that there would be presidential rule in the country if the constitution is not drafted on time.
Yadav said that the new government to be formed soon will arrive at a conclusion on the modality of state restructuring, conclude the peace process and constitution drafting on time.
He also said that the plan of major parties to draft a brief constitution would be a betrayal to the people. “This is not a solution to the problems of the country,” he said, adding, “The only alternative left for solution is the formation of a national government.”
MPRF Co-chairman Jaya Prakash Gupta said the country will plunge into a deep political crisis if national government is not formed any time soon as the High Level Political Mechanism has already failed to address political deadlock.
