POKHARA, March 20: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that his party will become a major force in its own efforts in the upcoming elections. Speaking at a program organized in Pokhara, Dahal said that the CPN (Maoist Center) is ready to contest in the upcoming election and not on the pretext of the coalition.
Dahal said that people have changed their views toward the Maoists in a positive way. “The Maoists have a high chance of securing a majority in the upcoming elections,” he said.
Furthemore, Dahal also clarified that an alliance with the CPN-UML is not possible at the moment although he said that the party could form an alliance with the UML politically and ideologically at a program held a few days ago.
