BIRATNAGAR, April 8: Senior leader of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), KP Sharma Oli, said on Wednesday that no one is scared by “intimidating” statement issued by Maoist army commanders.

A day after Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) commanders warned CPN-UML leaders not to provoke “sleeping lion” by accusing the Maoist cantonment sites of being haven for criminals, Oli said, “We are not going to be scared by the intimidating language coming in from cantonments; we too know to speak such a language.”

Oli also said the National Sports Council, which is currently conducting national games after a gap of 11 years, is a place for increasing guerrilla-ism, irresponsibility and conflict. “It is sportsmen, not guerrillas, who participate in games,” said Oli, referring to highly politicized PLA’s involvement in the national games.
