DOLPA, Aug 16: Trekking route to Dolpa based Phoksundo Lake has been disrupted as floods swept away the wooden bridges over the rivers along the way.
Due to flood on Friday morning following a three-days incessant rainfall, three bridges over the local Suligad river nearby Simdak and Sumdaha were devastated leaving the tourist trail completely disrupted.

According to Assistant Conservation Officer at Suligad based Shey-Phoksundo National Park Gopal Khanal, a rescue team including staffs of the park and security personnel was sent to help stranded tourists along the way. “We are also working on making alternative way,” Khanal informed Republica Online.
the National Park administration said that an alternative route is under-construction clearing the forest area as the water level is up to the danger-mark to rebuild the bridges.
A bridge at the gateway to Phoksundo lake had earlier been damaged on August 13. Tourists visiting Phoksundo Lake and the local villagers are facing difficulties in movement following further damages.
