NEPALGUNJ, Dec 30: Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa on Saturday said a way has been opened legitimately for the formation of a new government.

The incumbent government would fix province capital and its chiefs soon, he said.

"A cabinet meeting scheduled for coming Monday is likely to fix the date for National Assembly elections," he said while speaking at a programme organised by the RPP in Nepalgunj.

On reinstating Hindu state and monarchy, an issue the RPP has been advocating for long, he said the issue would be raised from the streets.

Meanwhile, later after the event, Thapa met with former King Gyanendra Shah in Nepalgunj. Shah was on the way to his journey to the far-west of the country.
