KANCHANPUR, Aug 6: Water flow in the Mahakali River is on the rise following the incessant rainfall since Monday night.
Indian side has restricted the movement of four-wheelers along Banbasa Bridge since today morning as the water level has gone up to the danger mark, Area Police Office in Gaddachauki stated.
Mahakali River records highest water level in eight years
The water flow in the river was recorded 13000 cusecs today morning. Passengers have been left stranded due to the restriction of the vehicular movement on the bridge.
Police say the water flow may increase in the river if the rains are not stopped in the hilly districts. Likewise, some houses in Bhimdattnagar Municipality-2, 4, 6 and 18 have been inundated due to torrential rains.
According to the local businesspersons, the vegetable market-shed was completely submerged when the water in rivulet overflowed.
