DHADING, May 17: A candidate for ward member of Nilkantha Municipality-7 was killed when a truck and a motorcycle collided near Daregouda of Sasah in Nilkantha Municipality-8 of Dhading district.
Ward member killed in road accident
Arjun Prasad Pokhrel, 29, of Nilkanth Municipality-7 died while undergoing treatment at Dhading Hospital, according to police. He was a candidate for ward member of Nilkantha Municipality-7 from CPN (Maoist Center) in the local level election held on May 13.
Similarly, Santosh Adhikari, 24, of Nilkanth Municipality-3 has been seriously injured in the accident. All the injured have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment. The accident took place when a truck (Ba 5 Kha 7072) heading to Malekhu from Dhading Besi and a motorcycle (Bagmati Province 02-033 Pa 3394) coming from Dhading Besi collided head-on, according to the police.
