“Let´s blow vuvuzela together,” says an advertisement just ahead of every World Cup match. But the much-hyped trumpets might deceive the first timers as they produce nothing but a soft fizzling sound. Once in tune, a Dionysian throng roars, say the lucky ones who returned after watching the match of their favorite team Argentina. [break]
“Vuvuzela gives a different kind of excitement,” said Usan Man Shrestha, during a press conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
All the four winners unanimously said it was their “most amazing moment” to be in the World Cup.
“I had the best time in my life,” said Kumar Prajapati, a die-hard fan of Spain and Lionel Messi of Argentina and Spanish club Barcelona. He also took a 12-foot flag of Nepal and waved it during the match.
Other winners Anurag Burma and Nirmal Bohara both said they didn´t realize how swiftly time passed during the match while Shrestha was awestruck and felt that he was dreaming for six days during the trip.
This was the first time BNL provided opportunity for Nepalis to participate in the World Cup, according to Pranaya Ratna Sthapit, country-marketing manager of BNL, which is the official dealer of Coca-Cola in Nepal.
Coca-Cola, the official sponsor of the World Cup, has also been providing support to the All Nepal Football Association, says Saumindra Bhattacharya, managing director of BNL. “Football is a core passion in Nepal. It is progressing in multiple dimensions,” he said, and added, “This year we have also sponsored football for girls in Nepal.”
