In its bid to conserve the vultures, Jatayu Restaurant, the first of its kind for vultures in Asia, has been setup at Kawasoti Municipality-8 to collect foods for vultures.

Chairman of Jatayu Restaurant Management Committee Dan Bahadur Chaudhary said that the Small Grants Programme (SGP) of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has supported for the vulture conservation effort.

The restaurant was set up by making old cows and oxen as the basis of safe foods for the vultures.
Chaudhary said that the vultures have been freed in the nature of Nawalpur from the Kasara-based breeding centre of Chitwan in order to protect the endangered species.

After the support from the UNDP's SGP, the number of vultures has increased from 72 to 217 and the number of tourist arrival has also increased, Chaudhary shared.(RSS)
