BIRATNAGAR, May 22: With the second phase of the local polls in sight, voter training programs have kicked off in Morang.
Volunteers have been mobilized for running 640 voter training programS for the elections slated for June 14, according to Eastern Regional Election Office, Biratnagar.
The volunteers will make door – to – door visits to train the voters on the voting process and on ways to fold the huge ballot paper. The trainers deputed from the election office will be in company with the cadres of the local political parties including a ward secretary acting as a supervisor, Election Office Chief Prem Prasad Sanjel said.
Morang - with the voter population tipping 563,870 - has already received 651,000 ballot papers to prepare for the elections. Morang has one sub metropolis, eight municipalities and eight rural municipalities.
