Vote counting remains stalled

BHAKTAPUR, May 23: Counting of votes in Changunarayan municipality of Bhaktapur has not resumed even three days after it was stopped following dispute among the parties.

The Nepali Congress has called for a recount of ward nos. 3 and 4 of the municipality while the UML has responded with a call to start it from Ward no. 1 to 4 leading to a deadlock.


An all-party meeting has been scheduled for 8:00 am tomorrow to try forge an understanding, said Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur Drona Pokharel.
