KATHMANDU, Nov 5: A group of volunteers have engaged in cleaning and decorating rivers and ponds in the Kathmandu valley for Chhath festival.  


Preparations are underway for the construction of Chhath ghat sites in rivers and ponds at various locations in Kathmandu. Volunteers are currently engaging in constructing Chhath ghats at several ponds and rivers. They have been engaged in activities such as cleaning, electricity connection, tenting, and other preparations at the worship sites.

The Chhath festival, observed from Kartik Shukla Chaturthi to Saptami, involves the worship of the Hindu Sun God. The main day of the Chhath festival features the worship of the setting sun in the evening, concluding with the worship of the rising sun the following morning.
