KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Vistara, an Indian airline, is adding Kathmandu to its network with flights starting from February 11.
India's full-service carrier is a joint venture of Tata Group and Singapore Airlines which will operate daily flights between Delhi and Kathmandu starting from February 11, 2020. The company has opened bookings from January 14 on multiple channels including Vistara's website, mobile app and through travel agents.

In a press statement issued by the company, Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer of Vistara was quoted as saying, “We are happy to launch services to Kathmandu, the gateway to a country with significant trade and cultural ties with India. The timing could not have been any better, as Nepal recently kick-started its global tourism campaign, 'Visit Nepal Year 2020' and prepares to welcome 2 million tourists this year.” She said that these factors make Kathmandu a promising addition to Vistara's growing network. “As India's only five-star carrier, we look forward to contributing to Nepal's tourism growth meaningfully and providing business and leisure travelers alike the finest way to fly between the two countries,” she added. The flight from Delhi will depart at 2:00 pm and reach Kathmandu airport at 4:15 pm whereas the flight from Kathmandu will take off at 5:15 pm and land at Delhi at 6:45 pm.
The company has introductory round-trip fares of IRs 9,999 (approximately Rs 15,998) for economy class between Delhi and Kathmandu. For business class round-trip, the company has determined IRs 39,999 (approximately Rs 63,998). Similarly, the company has set Rs 16,999 as the economy fare and Rs 61,999 as business class fare for Kathmandu-Delhi-Kathmandu flights.
The airline operates flights to 34 destinations and operates over 200 flights daily. The company has a fleet of 32 Airbus A320 and seven Boeing 737- 800NG aircraft. The airline has flown more than 20 million customers since starting operations in 2015.
