POKHARA, Nov 24: Vindu Kumar Thapa of Nepali Congress has won a seat in the Provincial Assembly from Kaski-2B. He defeated CPN-UML's Meena Gurung by a margin of 1,309 votes and was elected as a member of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly.

This is the second victory of Thapa, who previously defeated the then CPN candidate Rajkaji Gurung by a margin of about 700 votes in 2017.
Industrialist and business leader Thapa secured a thrilling victory over labor leader Gurung. Thapa has become an obstacle in the UML's campaign to clean sweep the election in the constituency. Meanwhile, RPP candidate Arun Giri obtained 3,903 votes and independent candidate Shramik Gharti got 465 votes.
