Vice President Yadav urges PSC to make its activities more effective

KATHMANDU, June 16: Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has stressed that the performance and activities of the Public Service Commission (PSC) need to be more effective.

KATHMANDU, June 16: Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has stressed that the performance and activities of the Public Service Commission (PSC) need to be more effective. 


Vice President Yadav made the remarks while addressing an event organized to mark the 73rd anniversary of the PSC. He urged the PSC to make its services further effective. He said that the Commission's responsibility of selecting capable candidates in the civil service as well as conducting written examinations for  filling the posts of Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force of Nepal and other federal government organizations was satisfactory. 


He said the PSC's role in recruiting and selecting employees, including civil servants, was impartial, fair and trustworthy, asking the Commission to continue it.

Similarly, PSC Chairperson Madhav Prasad Regmi mentioned that the Commission has formulated and implemented its second strategic plan (2079/80-2083/84) to make its employee recruitment and selection task more impartial, timely and reliable as well as to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Commission. 


Data management tasks would be made further systematic in the coming days as the Commission has brought a new online system into implementation, he clarified.  


Heads of constitutional bodies, former chairpersons of the Commission, Attorney General, Chief Secretary of the government as well as other high-ranking officials were present on the occasion.
