Initially, Vice President Yadav exhibited symptoms of vomiting and headaches, and food poisoning was suspected due to his consumption of sweets. Subsequently, he was tested for the virus. However, he was hospitalized on Wednesday evening after experiencing symptoms including a high fever, severe headaches, chest pain, and intermittent vomiting.

A medical team comprising Bidesh Bista and Vice President Yadav's private physician, Dr Shivaji Silwal, is overseeing his treatment. Dr Silwal reported that the results of the kidney function test are promising, and the vomiting and fever are now under control. Nevertheless, a decrease in platelets count has been observed, necessitating continued hospitalization for a day or two to address this specific issue.

Dr Silwal noted, "While other aspects of his health are stable, the platelets count has decreased as of this morning, so we will keep him in the hospital for further observation."
