KATHMANDU, July 20: Vehicular movement along Yampa-Abukhaireni section of Prithivi Highway has resumed after three hours on Wednesday.

Vehicular movement along the road section was disrupted after a landslide triggered by the incessant rainfall blocked it..

The District Police Office, Tanahun informed that the road section, which was blocked since 6 AM this morning, came into operation after 9 AM.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka at the District Police Office, Tanahun, informed that the landslide debris were removed to resume vehicular movement along the Highway

People coming to Pokhara from Mugling and going to Chitwan and Kathmandu from Dumre are now heading towards their destination from the highway. Works are currently underway for the expansion of the Prithviraj Highway. 

Landslides have become a regular occurrence in recent days as walls are being cut down as a part of the expansion works of the Highway. Incessant rainfall has further worsened the problem.
