Vehicle pulled out from Bhote Koshi River, two passengers still missing

SINDHUPALCHOK, Sept 14: A vehicle that had plunged into the Bhote Koshi River near Baranda Tole in Sindhupalchok district has been retrieved.

The Bolero vehicle (Ba 20 Cha 2185), which had fallen from the road at Baranda Tole, Bahrabise Municipality-6 on Friday afternoon, was retrieved from the river on Friday evening using a crane. However, the two passengers onboard are still missing, according to the Area Police Office, Bahrabise and the police are searching for the missing passengers.

According to the initial investigation by the police, there were two people in the Bolero. The driver, 38-year-old Sanu Sherpa of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-5, and 35-year-old Suntali Tamang of Bahrabise Municipality-9 were in the vehicle.

Earlier in the day, locals had spotted the vehicle's tire in the river and informed the police. Following the information, suspecting a vehicle had fallen, police rushed to the scene. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the Nepali Army were deployed for the search. Eventually, the vehicle was pulled out from the river with the help of two cranes.
