SANKHUWASABHA, Nov 14: A vehicle carrying candidates of leftist alliance for election publicity has been ambushed at Sabhapokhari rural municipality this morning. 


A hand bomb was hurled at the vehicle carrying CPN (UML) candidate to the House of Representatives, Rajendra Prasad Gautam, CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate to State Assembly (1), Purna Prasad Rai, and proportional candidate of CPN (Maoist Centre) Chetnath Sharma of the district.

According to Gautam, the bomb was hurled while the vehicle with election candidates were heading towards Barhabise bazaar from Dhupu for election publicity. 


No human casualty was reported in the incident. A meeting of security committee is now taking place at Khandbari and no one has so far taken the responsibility of the incident. 


The elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies are taking place in the district, having only one electoral constituency, on November 26. RSS
