KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Leaders from various political parties have said the alliance among the democratic forces was essential to check the leftist alliance so that the national politics would be balanced. The unity among the leftist forces would jeopardize nationality and democracy, they argued.
During a programme organized in the capital city Thursday, the leaders said the alliance forged among the CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN UML and Naya Shakti Party on the run-up to the elections of House of Representatives and of Province was against the democratic values.
Nepali Congress leader Dr Narayan Khakda said the leftists' unity would not survive long. Only democratic force is the stable force in Nepal, he added.
Spokesperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Roshan Karki, said the unity among the broader democratic alliance was not against any political party, but for stability and prosperity of the country.
General Secretary of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal (Democratic) Yogendra Chaudhari said the broader democratic alliance should be accountable to the country and the people. RSS
