According to locals, the VDC office was set ablaze by a group of people identifying themselves as cadres of Samyukta Jatiya Mukti Morcha. After the arson, the group terrorized the villagers by planting a bomb in a window of the office.
A bomb disposal squad of Nepal Army defused the bomb later.
