In Tuesday´s football final played at the Army Headquarters ground in Bhadrakali, Valley Division Headquarters defeated Central Division Headquarters 4-3 on penalties. The game went down to the wire after the regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw and the added time finished goalless.[break]
Eastern Division Headquarters finished third in the football event.
The winning team received Rs 25,000 along with the running shield and medals from acting army chief Lt Gen Netra Bahadur Thapa.
The runner-up and third position holder bagged Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
The CoAS Trophy will conclude on Army Day, which falls on Mahashivaratri every year.
