US willing to resettle more Bhutanese refugees

KATHMANDU, June 10: The United States has expressed interest in taking more Bhutanese refugees for resettlement there.



Visiting Deputy Undersecretary for Population, Refugees and Migration Kelly Clements conveyed the US interest during her meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala.



"US is willing to take more refugees to the US," said Koirala about her meeting with Clements. According to Koirala, Kelly appreciated Nepal for hospitality to Tibetan and Bhutanese refugees.
