KATHMANDU, Sept 6
: United States of America have removed UCPN (Maoist) from terrorist watch-list, a state department spokesperson said in Washington.

With these actions, the CPN (M)’s property and interests in property in the United States or within the possession or control of U.S. persons will no longer be blocked, and U.S. entities may engage in transactions with CPN(M) without having to obtain a license, the spokesperson said. [break]

The US have concluded that UCPN (Maoist) has no longer been engaged in terrorist activities that threatens the security of US nationals or US foreign policy.

However, the delisting doesn’t mean that the US have overlooked or forgotten the UCPN (Maoist)’s violent past, the statement adds.
