US politicians call on PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, May 7: A team of US politicians led by leader of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday. 

During the meeting held in the Prime Minister's Office, Singha Durbar, discussions were held on the issues of mutual interest, contemporary political issues and development projects in Nepal. 

The PM said that the United States extended crucial supports for the success of the peace process in Nepal and also thanked the US delegation for the US supports in the rescue and relief tasks during the 'Gorkha Earthquake' and reconstruction bids in the aftermath of the catastrophe. 

The PM also informed the US politicians that Nepal was marching ahead towards political stability, development and economic prosperity. 

PM Dahal further said that Nepal's peace process was taken to its logical end by considering the principle of transitional justice. 

On the occasion, the US delegation expressed their concerns on Nepal's peace process, human rights situation, trade and investment agreements and other issues. 

During the meeting, the US delegation also shared that there would be no change in US diplomacy and foreign relations after the victory of Donald Trump in the post of US President. RSS
