US envoy pledges help for health, agriculture

BAGLUNG, Feb. 26: The US Ambassador to Nepal, Peter William Bodde has said the US government was ready to help Nepal for the development of health and agricultural sectors.



Taking part in an interaction program organized by the District Health Office Baglung on Tuesday, Ambassador Bodde said the US government was ready to provide additional assistance to these sectors, he said.



On the occasion, the US Ambassador urged the body concerned to create working-friendly environment for American Peace Corps volunteers in the district. He suggested the government take effective measures to ensure rural people´s access to health.



Five American volunteers are presently working in the health and agro sectors in Baglung.



Chief of District Agricultural Development Office Shyam Kant Rijal apprised the US Ambassador about the state of affairs and other agro-related activities of the district.
