US Army General in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, June 10: Charles A. Flynn, Commanding General of United States Army Pacific Command, arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday for a four-day visit.


General Flynn of the USA has arrived in Nepal on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. According to the US Embassy in Nepal, General Flynn's visit is a continuation of decades of defense cooperation between Nepal and the United States.

During his stay in Nepal, General Flynn is scheduled to hold talks with the President, Prime Minister and other high-level political leaders as well as Chief of Army Staff Sharma, General Prabhu Ram Sharma. He is being honored by the Guard of Honor at the Army Headquarters on Friday. Then, he is scheduled to meet with Chief of Army Staff Sharma and briefing on the activities of the Nepal Army (NA), said NA Spokesperson, Brigadier General Narayan Silwal.


Similarly, General Flynn will observe Mt. Everest via a mountain flight on Saturday. NA has informed that he is scheduled to visit the Army Command and Staff College Shivpuri on Sunday along with visiting the Peace Work Training Center at Panchkhal.
