KATHMANDU, Oct 3: US Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry has returned home after completing his four-year tenure. He returned to his country on Sunday after the United States appointed him as the ambassador to Namibia.
"I am extremely grateful to have had the privilege of including a chapter in my life story about the history of the relationship between Nepalis and Americans," Berry said through social media.
Dean R Thompson nominated as new US Ambassador to Nepal
He said that he is very optimistic about the future of Nepal and has also mentioned that he has got the opportunity to understand the citizens, terrain, beliefs and culture very well.
Likewise, Dean Thompson, the newly appointed US ambassador to Nepal, took the oath on Friday. US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R Sherman administered the oath to Thompson. It is said that he will arrive in Nepal to take over his tenure within a few weeks.
