This is the seventh edition of the annual event that is scheduled for December 21 at the Rastriya Naach Ghar in Kathmandu, as planned by the Kathmandu Jaycees.
The forms for the event are going to be given out till December 4, and among all applicants, 24 candidates will be chosen to compete for the crown and the title. The training session for the participants will be held from December 8 till the final day of the event on December 21. The Jaycee members are planning to conduct the training sessions in the DECC Hall of United World Trade Centre at Tripureshwor.Besides the three positions for the crown, the participants will also be competing for the titles like Miss Personality, Miss Talent, Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Intelligent, and Miss Best Dress.
The main objective of the program, as stated by the event organization committee, is to promote women empowerment by giving them opportunities to show their talents and develop their personality and leadership qualities. The winning Miss Teen will be involving herself in each of the activities conducted by the Kathmandu Jaycees throughout the next year.
“Despite the unstable political situation that we’ve been warned of, we’re planning to conduct the program with our best possible efforts,” says JC and Project Chairman of Miss Teen Nepal 2009, Chandra Rabi Shrestha.
The members of the Kathmandu Jaycees are happy with the response as girls from outside the Kathmandu Valley have also shown their interests to represent their respective areas at the event.
“Their enthusiasm has encouraged us to conduct the program on the scheduled date,” says JC Shrestha.
