KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has told Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, that unusual activities [from any other country] on Nepal’s internal politics were unacceptable to his party.
Oli spoke to the Indian ambassador during a meeting held at the UML head office at Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu on Sunday.
“Stating that his party was for friendly relations with neighboring countries, Chairman Oli made it clear during the meeting that any unusual maneuverings on Nepal’s internal politics would be unacceptable,” read a statement issued by the party’s publicity department after the meeting
“Chairman Oli further stressed that all sides should act cautiously because such maneuverings could further complicate matters.
” Oli’s cautionary statement comes a few days after he was forced to step down from the government, apparently, with the support of the Indian government.
