Unified Socialist holding National Council meeting being held to finalize the party’s statute

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: A National Council meeting of the CPN (Unified Socialists) is being held in Kathmandu today. The meeting called to discuss the draft statute will start at 11 AM at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu. The meeting is expected to last for two days.

The draft statute prepared by a three-member working group under the leadership of Vice Chairman Dr Beduram Bhusal will be submitted in the meeting. 

Metmani Chaudhary, the leader of the party, said that the statute will be completed after taking suggestions from the members of the National Council. After that, according to the same statute, the leadership will be selected from the convention to be held in June.

Two members from each constituency will be represented in the National Council meeting. Apart from that, the Central Committee, Politburo, Standing Committee and other officials participate in the National Council meeting. Some members are also nominated.

Chaudhary said that the statute will be finalized by determining the responsibilities of the leaders in the necessary places by combining the balanced leadership of the provinces, regions and geography and the legal ambiguity as per the suggestions received from the National Council meeting.
