MUGU, April 28: An unidentified group on Saturday planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the main gate of the District Coordination Committee (DCC) of Mugu.
The locals immediately informed police after spotting a suspicious object at the DCCs gate in the morning, according to Deputy Superintendent pf Police (DSP) Lal Bahadur Ayer. Police suspect the bomb must have been kept by the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand, which has been banned by the government.

He further informed that Shreedal Battalion of Nepal Army was deployed to dispose the IED. Armed Police Force and Nepal Police cordoned off the area to restrict people from gathering around the incident site.
Security was tightened around the DCC following the incident. Shreedal Battalion, which has been protecting the Rara National Park, just had one technician who could dispose the bomb. Unfortunately, he had gone outside the district for training.
Later, two technicians from Nepal Army's No 24 Brigade in Jumla were called for the disposal at around 9 am. However, due to difficult land topography, they reached the site only at around 1 pm.
