BHAKTAPUR, Oct 27: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said there will be trustworthy understanding among parties after the Tihar festival.

After garlanding the statue of national luminary Shankhadhar Sakhwa at Madhyapur Thimi Thursday, he said news will come of ‘breakthrough’ soon after Tihar.[break]

The peace process will get fullness after Tihar and the constitution making will be reached to a crucial point, he said.

The prime minister also said the Nepal Sambat was an era of the whole Nepal and that a three-member committee was constituted under Padmaratna Tuladhar for seeking suggestions on its promotion.

At the programme organized by the Rastriya Bibhuti Shankhadhar Sakhwa Pratisthan, the PM honored Tuladhar, Newa De Dabu patron Malla K. Sundar and the Lyamha Pucha Thimi.

In another program, the Prime Minister said that the constitution writing process cannot move ahead without any tangible progress in the peace process.

He, however, said that the dialogue and discussion taking place among the political parties would give an important impetus to the peace process in a day or two.

“All the parties would meet around October 30 to take a very significant decision”, the Prime Minister said while talking to journalists during the Deusi Bhailo program organized by Reporters’ Club at the Prime Minister’s Residence.

The peace process and the constitution writing process are interlinked with one another and only a national consensus would take us to a decision, he said.

Both the task however should be carried out as per the guidelines of the comprehensive peace agreement, interim constitution and the previous agreement, Dr Bhattarai added.

Dr Bhattartai said the parties have reached near to a consensus on the contentious issues of the forms of governance, electoral system, and so an agreement on state restructuring would lead to a significant progress in the constitution making process.

Referring to his recent visit to India, the Prime Minister said the visit has begun a new dimension by building an atmosphere of trust at the people and government level of the two countries.

The BIPPA agreement is being questioned by those who have not understood it, but is described as just, essential and in the interest of the nation by those who understand it, he added.

The intra-party differences inside the Maoist party would also not affect its enforcement as it was unanimously approved by the party, Dr Bhattarai said.
