MORANG, Aug 1: The chief of the Biratnagar-based Labor and Employment Office, Prem Prasad Sanjel, was injured when he was beaten by two staffers in his office on Saturday morning.
According to police, Under Secretary Sanjel was beaten by two women staffers by locking his room from inside. The staffers have been identified as office helpers Netra Bhattarai Niraula and Menuka Sapkota Koirala. Both the staffers have been working at the office on contract.
Sanjel was hit by sandals, nail cutters, punching machines, among other equipment in the office.

"Both the staffers are under police control. We have already started investigation into the case," Superintendent of Police Santosh Khadka, who is the chief of Morang District Police, told Republica, adding that Sanjel has sustained injuries on his lips and face.
"We were pressurized at work. Sanjel used to scold us at work," the two staffers, told the police.
"I heard a big noise in the office. When I reached the office, they [two women] were beating Sanjel," said a trader running a business near the office.
According to police, the two women have also destroyed documents of the office.
