KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Visiting United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Prior to the meeting, Chief Secretary Dr Baikuntha Aryal and Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal welcomed the UN Secretary-General to the Singha Durbar-based Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Before this, the UN Secretary-General held a separate meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Purna Bahadur Khadka, and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Prakash Saud.  The foreign minister welcomed the UN-Secretary General who arrived here this morning on his four-day official visit to Nepal at the VVIP lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The UN Secretary-General is scheduled to call on President Ramchandra Paudel, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli today itself.

Likewise, he will be visiting Patan Durbar Square and is expected to attend a dinner organized by the Prime Minister later in the evening today.
