KATHMANDU, Nov 10: The CPN-UML has officially launched its “Return Home National Campaign,” marking the return of several prominent leaders who had left the party four years ago.
Former Minister Ram Kumari Jhakri, along with Kisan Shrestha, Gambhir Lal Shrestha, Pitambar Timilsina and other former members of the dissolved CPN (Unified Socialist), announced their return to the UML during a special programme held at the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu on Monday.

The event saw the participation of more than 50 former central members and hundreds of other leaders and cadres of the Unified Socialist.
During the welcoming ceremony, Chairman KP Sharma Oli greeted the returnees with traditional scarves and garlands, presenting them with the UML flag as a symbolic gesture of their reinstatement into the party.
Prior to the event, Jhakri, Shrestha and other leaders had met Oli at his residence in Gundu, informing him of their decision to return to the party. The meeting was also attended by former Unified Socialist leaders Pitambar Timilsina, Arjun Rai and Nawaraj Paudel.
The returning leaders had joined the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN (Unified Socialist) in August 2022 after becoming dissatisfied with the UML.
