UML youth, student wings to protest constitution amendment bill

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The Youth Association Nepal (YAN) and the All Nepal Free Students Union (ANNFSU) have decided to jointly protest the constitution amendment bill registered at the Legislature-Parliament Secretariat on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The Youth Association Nepal (YAN) and the All Nepal Free Students Union (ANNFSU) have decided to jointly protest the constitution amendment bill registered at the Legislature-Parliament Secretariat on Tuesday.


YAN is the youth wing and the ANNFSU the student wing of the main opposition CPN-UML.

A joint meeting of the two organizations held at the YAN office today decided to come out in protest against and relentlessly oppose the constitution amendment bill the government has registered until it was withdrawn, arguing that the bill would not address the problem, YAN spokesman Prabhat Bikram Katwal said.


ANNFSU president Nabina Lama said the meeting decided to wage protest against the seven-point constitution amendment bill until it was withdrawn and also to bring on board other student and youth organizations. The meeting also concluded that the Province No 5 should not be split.


It is stated that the youth and students would protest the constitution amendment bill across the country. RSS
