UML withdraws Rasuwa strike

RASUWA, April 14: The CPN (UML) has withdrawn the indefinite Rasuwa district-wide shutdown it had called for to protest the beating of its cadres by the Unified CPN (Maoist) cadres.



In a press release issued on Tuesday night, the CPN (UML) said the district-wide indefinite shutdown has been withdrawn in view of the Matatirtha Aunsi festival and the New Year.



Transport service in the district has resumed and the market has opened from early morning today after the withdrawal of the shutdown.



Cadres of the Unified CPN (Maoist) severely beat two CPN (UML) cadres. They are undergoing treatment at the TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu.
