UML will secure majority: Khanal

ILAM, Oct 27: Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal on Sunday claimed that his party will secure a majority in the upcoming elections to the Constituent Assembly (CA).

Speaking to media persons at Fikkal VDC of the district, Khanal claimed that his party has been emerged as frontrunner some 150 constituencies.



“Voters across the country favor CPN-UML as they believe that our party would draft the new constitution,” Khanal claimed. He said his party would prioritize the promulgation of a pro-people constitution, consolidation of democracy and development. [break]



“The UCPN (Maoist) is not as strong as it was during the last election. Similarly, Nepali Congress is also losing ground,” Khanal remarked. He further claimed that the party´s candidates would win elections in most of the constituencies.



Khanal, who is running door-to door campaigns in Ilam, said he has already visited seven VDCs out of 15 so far. Khanal has thrice won in the previous polls. He is contesting the polls from constituency number 1 of the district.
